REDUCE CITY BUDGET

ELIMINATE INTEREST GROUP FUNDING

REVIEW THE CITY OF CALGARY F.C.S.S

(Calgary) Concerned Christians Canada (CCC) is offering some advice as to where the City of Calgary can make some cut's in the budget over the next three years.  Their advice is to eliminate taxpayer funding of special interest groups and one group in particular being mentioned that is funded by the City of Calgary is the Calgary Birth Control Association (CBCA) / Calgary Sexual Health Centre an affiliate of Planned Parenthood.

“Calgarians are overtaxed and we have had enough.  The budget needs to be cut and only services that are needed must continue to be funded. We do not think funding an organization such as the CBCA that is Pro Abortion and actively promotes a Pro Homosexual program in Calgary's schools called Diversity and Respecting Everyone
(DARE) is something Calgarians would support or even know about for that matter. Calgary tax dollars have helped this Pro-Choice anti family organization flourish. There web site is full of feminist abortion rights, pro-gay anti-family comments and we are alarmed that the City of Calgary is funding this. If the CBCA can’t exist without government funds then they do not deserve to exist at all! CCC is not using tax dollars to promote our views on the family and alternatives to abortion. I think Calgarians would appreciate any and all available funds to be spent on sewers roads and bridges, not this type of propaganda” Said Jim Blake National Chairman of the CCC.

CCC is notifying all Alderman and the Mayor of their concern with this type of government funding through the Family & Community Support Services (F.C.S.S) and will be encouraging other Christians to do the same through a letter campaign to Churches and Christian organizations in Calgary.

“I really do not think that any Alderman or Calgarians are aware that this type of funding is occurring. If the CBCA is truly a choice organization then they should not object to having people choose whether to support their efforts rather than feeding at the government trough. I never chose to fund a group like the CBCA and I do not expect them to fund groups such as the CCC. As far as we are concerned all interest groups should be funded by the people they purport to represent and City Hall should cut all purse strings to interest groups” concluded Blake.
