Alberta Christians Want An Apology
MLA Sandra Jensen publicly attacks Craig Chandler, Christians and Social Conservatives
Article Source: Calgary Sun

MLA Sandra Jansen has come out firing against Alberta social conservatives and has taken aim at Craig Chandler to make an example of him. She seemingly wants to send a clear message that the PC Party of Alberta should be anti-Christian bigots and should forcibly remove anyone who names the name of Christ or holds traditional family values. Evidently in Ms. Jansen's mind, such Albertans should have no voice in the political arena, or at the very least should be denied access to the PC Party of Alberta. Can you imagine if she had made such comments about blacks, about natives, jews, muslims, or gays?
She has gone so far as to indicate that the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta is infact not the Progressive Conservative Party, but is truly only the Progressive Party of Alberta. Frankly her comments are dispicable. Long before Ms. Jansen was an MLA, the PC Party of Alberta stood for conservative values. It later took pride in calling itself the "big tent" party under the direction of Ed Stelmach, who then proceeded to kick Craig Chandler out of his position because he held social conservative values, even though he was democratically elected by electoral district constituents. Has the PC Party of Alberta joined the ranks of the other leftist parties of the province? Do truly conservative Albertans have to look elsewhere when they want to be represented by politicians?
There are Albertans such as myself, and others I know, that have forgiven and forgiven the PC Alberta party for their wayward ways with scandals, bad managment, and fiscal irresponsibility. We have even forgiven that, for many years, they have made social conservatives and traditional conservatives alike feel alienated from their party. But now that the party seems to be fine with allowing an outspoken leftist PC MLA redefine the party completely to a progressive party, it's looking less and less like their is any hope of the party being anything more than NDP light, Liberal Party #2, or some reasonable facsimile thereof.

Perhaps it's time that we conservatives stop supporting the PC party of Alberta due to their anti-Christian bigotry, or perhaps the party should once and for all eliminate all "anti-Christian" bigots from the party and truly be welcoming to conservatives.
MLA Sandra Jansen has abused her role as an elected official to attack social conservatives (and particulary those who hold to traditional Christian values) on the level of open bigotry. Even Troy Wason recognizes the malice of her statements; “The guy hasn’t even had an opportunity to prove himself and already there’s judge, jury and executioner.”

As stated earlier, in the past, the PC Party of Alberta has demonstrated a clear contempt toward social conservatives. I hope that under the more sensible and democratic Ric McIver this will no longer be tolerated.
We call on the PC Party of Alberta to reprimand Ms. Jansen for her anti-Christian remarks and insist that she make a public apology or we will actively expose her in the next election for her anti-Christian values and run information campaigns exposing the anti-Christian tactics that the PC Party have employed over the many years since Ed Stelmach took the PC Alberta helm. Albertans deserve conservatives that will represent conservative values, not merely progressive values.
As someone who has worked with Ric McIver personally and helped him with his political campaigns, I can't imagine that he would think that Sandra Jansen's behavior exemplifies the heart and soul of the PC Party of Alberta. I call on Ric McIver, to be the fair minded and democracy loving politician he demonstrated himself to be when he was an Alderman in Calgary. I call on Mr. McIver to instruct Sandra Jansen to call a press conference and publicly apologize to social conservative Albertans.
His response in this matter will demonstrate what kind of a party the PC Party of Alberta has become, either a bigoted, anti-Christian cesspool of liberalism, or a fair minded and truly welcoming party for all conservatives.

Jim Blake

All glory goes to the living God, maker of the heavens and the earth, for He alone is worthy of all glory and honor and praise. I consider the sufferings of this age not worthy to be compared to what is to come for those who place their faith in the King of kings and persevere in faith, day by day, until the end.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Psalm 103:11-18

many people, not just Sandra Jansen, don't like Craig Chandler... not because he's a Christian but because he's person with very loud and extremely "conservative" views on many social issues, including homosexuality. frankly, he's a bit of a pompous dick. when you refer to the PCAA as "bigoted, anti-Christian cesspool of liberalism", that tells me everything that I need to know about your views. thankfully, there *is* a party that seems receptive to views such as yours and Craig's: the WRP. suggest you go for it

by the way, wrt your phrase "anti-Christian bigots"... most of us are "anti-(Christian bigots)" but I think you're referring to "(anti-Christian) bigots"; i.e. it's the whole "persecution of Christians" thing

I figure it would only take 2 or 3 generations to completely get rid of religion. Peacefully slowly phase it out until at least that part of the worlds problems is no longer.politicians and organized religion are the biggest reasons for war and hate... That much is obvious
