Thursday, May 24th, 2007
- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -
(Calgary) Concerned Christians Canada Inc. (CCC), is formally launching its partnership drive uniting with business leaders for the first annual Night On The Street on Friday, May 25th from 8 PM - 8 AM at 214 - 11th Ave SE. The Partnership Drive is a call to action for organizations and business leaders and is an initiative to create awareness and raise funds for the various street ministries that are working to confront the homeless crisis in Calgary.
"Homeless Calgarians have been brushed under the carpet for too long in Calgary. There is no excuse for a city as afluent as Calgary to ignore the needs of its most vulnerable citizens. Hundreds of Calgarians including a large percentage of working poor, individuals and families, are hungy and homeless every day. We are asking for campassionate citizens and politicians to come and join us for this Night On The Street, or to donate to street ministries to help get this crisis under control." said Jim Blake, National Chairman of CCC.
